Warning, there are spoilers ahead!

When Alison DiLaurentis made the journey from Rosewood, home of Pretty Little Liars, to a new town called Beacon Heights, where spinoff The Perfectionists, is set, she was married to Emily Fields and one-half of the couple PLL fans and shippers call “Emison.” However, as The Perfectionists just revealed in a new episode, that relationship is (SPOILER ALERT!) officially over.

This comes as a bit of a shock, but also feels like it was a long time coming. Emily isn’t part of The Perfectionists, and neither are the twin babies she and Alison were parenting at the end of PLL. We haven’t heard much about Alison’s family back in Rosewood, which was a bit suspicious, but in the April 10 episode, we found out why: Emily served her with divorce papers. Apparently, Alison had been pushing off signing the papers for awhile, as seen in the episode, but finally did so and ended Emison for good.

So what’s next? In early March, showrunner I. Marlene King alluded to TVGuide that changes were afoot for Alison and Emily. She revealed that Emily and her daughters, Lily and Grace, are “safe in Rosewood,” but that things weren’t picture-perfect. “Alison comes to Beacon Heights because an opportunity arises that she can’t pass up. It’s very hard for her to leave Emily and the babies, but we will understand as the first 10 episodes play out what’s happened in that relationship, why it’s happening and why Alison is so far away from Emily,” she said at the time. RIP, Emison, we hardly knew you.
